Video Surveillance Systems

Video surveillance systems are modular, elastic, and scalable. They can be tailored to fit all the security requirements, while keeping the budget in mind. Video Surveillance Systems include digital video recorders, DVR cards, USB (universal serial bus) capture devices and remote video surveillance software. The Remote Witness video surveillance software allows the user to record motion activated high-resolution digital video and display multiple cameras simultaneously from the camera location or a remote site.

Remote Witness digital video surveillance systems are very easy to operate, and smoothly combine with existing video surveillance systems, and can be operated in a variety of applications including loss prevention, remote monitoring, and crime prevention or home security. Video surveillance systems also include CCTV and digital video cameras.

A CCTV system stands for Closed Circuit Television. The circuit in this surveillance system is totally closed and all the elements are connected. Conversely, a digital system allows for remote control of cameras and better visual data, meaning that a person can see things and faces more clearly due to improved optics and zooming. Data is accumulated digitally, not on tape and this means that it can be recovered instantaneously.

The increasing demand for trains with video surveillance systems is an expansion which will indisputably effect the rail industry and it is imminent that within ten years the installation of video surveillance systems will become the industry standard. The installation of video surveillance equipment on board trains is apparent for a number of reasons such as the protection of company assets and the protection of the environment and creation of "safe zones" in public areas.

There are many types and makes of cameras and surveillance equipment available in the market and includes hidden cameras, dome cameras, smoke detecting cameras, infrared cameras, and vandal proof cameras. Security systems are ever improving and more and more industries are using these cameras to protect the work environment and promote good work ethics at the workplace.
