Abatement of Accident Debris

As the materials we use in our transportation technologies improve we will need to be very careful to insure that all the debris from accidents is cleaned up properly and all the materials are properly handled by the first responders. If we fail to clean these accidents and these areas surrounding the accidents correctly this could jeopardize the environment locally, polluting groundwater and causing havoc in the local ecosystem.

If you'll recall with the space shuttle break-up that came to Earth in one million pieces spread across Texas that it was very important to collect those high-tech materials because when they were superheated they gave off very toxic gases and caused the compounds to change slightly. For those people who were not careful in collecting the debris they will have serious issues.

In the future with these types of high-tech materials being used on our aircraft, rail transportation, trucks and even fuel efficient hybrid vehicles we will have to be more concerned with these issues. Abatement of accident debris is essential and training is necessary for first responders so that they do not become contaminated with these materials.

After the 911 Towers had collapsed over 19,000 people have what is now called; The 911 Death Cough and many people are expected to die from inhaling the debris from that accident. Consider the serious issues of abatement of accident debris and think of this in 2006.
